Nodes are the people who help maintain the structure of Bitcoin: they verify confirmed transaction, update their ledger, and broadcast their update to Bitcoin network.
As shown in the previous post’s picture, Nodes work
closely with Miner; miner process transactions and Nodes pronounce changes to
the public.
Not every Bitcoin users are Nodes, and you do not have to be
Node to use Bitcoin.
However, since more nodes create higher level of security
of Bitcoin system, it is recommended to be a Node, if you are using Bitcoin.
